Beamed up.
Today marks a sad day for Trekkies the world over. James Doohan has passed on, at 85, a long and prosperous life. I have always looked up to Mr. Scott, he was a great character and an amazing engineer. It was Scotty who guided me down a more technical path, always tinkering with this and that, learning what I could along the way. I have his character to thank for my dependency on computers to make it through every day life. I know I don't want to dwell upon a fictional character portrayed so well by Mr. Doohan but that is really all I know. I did get a chance to see him once a long time ago at a convention in Connecticut, I wish I had a better memory from that time in my life, hell any time in my life. You can see things about a person just by looking at them, by the look of him he seemed to give off a pleasant, good natured presence. Know this, James Doohan was a man who brought many people inspiration as well a reason to learn and be educated. I will miss seeing him play the role we all know and love and my condolences go out to his family and friends.
