XM Radio

I've since discovered that Sirius satellite radio happens to have channels that I'd be much more inclined to listen to. Jam On 17 is a remarkable station that happens to cater to the likes of me. Anyway I'm no longer interested in things satellite, I'm making do with more down to Earth type things. I picked up a little mp3 player after christmas and have since been downloading all manner of podcasts and listening to them at work. I must be getting old, realizing that you'd rather listen to the geek equivalent of AM talk radio gives me chills... so I put a few albums on for good measure.

Original post follows....

A while ago now I was at a party at a friends house. One of the people I met happened to have this XM device with him, we checked the score of the Red Sox game with it. Anyway we were talking about it and he mentioned that there was a 30-day trial on-line. So today I checked the XM site and discovered that the 30-day trial was only available if you had recently purchased a Dell... crap. There is however a 3-day free trial and I signed up for that. Which is handy because now when the trial is up it'll be time to try one of my Homestyle Dill Pickles. I'm not too impressed with the internet service they're letting me try, the player kept buffering every song... sometimes twice a song, on cable! I was still impressed by the device that guy had, it had news, sports, stocks... all available right there at the touch of your fingers. Now I've seen this peice of digital wizardry for sale at around $300, way out of affordability reach. But I did see some other one for $50, I'm wondering if it can display the news too, because then I'd be all set.
