Ditched php-fusion
I decided to ditch php-fusion as the the primary cms that this site is using. With my discovery of Performancing I decided that I want a 'blog' again. So thats the purpose of this site, I need to keep myself from falling for the myspaces and bloggers of the 'net and just use the space I pay for as the same thing only better right. Anyway thats it... Mr. Scott should be getting an update anytime now.
Perofrmancing Test
As I was browsing through the ridiculous amount of Firefox extensions I came across Performancing 1.1.1. (Wow does that look weird or what... I always wondered if it's proper to end a sentence with numbers like that.)Performancing is a blogging tool that allows you to create posts from inside Firefox while you're browsing the internet. You set up the extension to log into your blog which enables it to post your new content to the blog site. I am currently using it and hope to see what it can do in a minute here.
Nervous Reflexes and podcasting
Firstly, I successfully fricasseed the original nervousreflex.com site. I had uploaded the updates for Mambo's phpBB plugin, and this caused me to start getting errors with the logins as well. I did use the plugin as part of mambo, the plugin is what managed all the user accounts and noone was able to login anymore. I have a copy of the original phpBB files around here somewhere but I decided to have another look at the available content management systems. I found one called php-fusion, and I like it much better already... maybe not better but I like the look and feel of it a little more. One big plus for php-fusion is that it come with forums at part of the system, which is where I destroyed my Mambo install.
By the way if you are looking for a cms of your own go to: www.opensourcecms.com
This place has a list of all kinds of content management systems that are open source. The site also lets you demo them as well so you can play with both the user and admin functionalities.
Secondly, Podcasting. A medium I have enjoyed for a while now has set its little hooks into me. I am currently drafting up plans to start my own podcast cover a wide array of topic. I'm also planning on having a video feed as well, even though I'm not much to look at. I'm looking into getting a co-host as well. More on this as it develops.
